Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
Good working knowledge of OSHA, strong demonstrated passion for safety. Experience with training and development initiatives in Health and safety. Must be able to carry out task-based risk assessments. Experience identifying safety training needs, leading safety training, and developing training initiatives. The incumbent can initiate tasks and work in an independent manner, must be able to communicate with management staff, visitors, and plant personnel. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Knowledge of industrial and laboratory safety required.
Essential Responsibilities:
Maintains safety training records.
Performs safety training per the site's requirements.
Follows the direction of the Plant Manager with reference to safety needs.
Provides guidance on program management of safety.
Communicates and initiates improvements in safety based on trends and audit findings.
Upholds a positive safety and environmental work environment.
Maintains incident report tracking.
Performs in house audits to make sure all rules and being followed.
Assists in updating SOPs for facility compliance with safety and regulatory programs.
Investigates safety incidents to identify root cause and CAPA's.
Provides support for the management of waste streams.
Provides guidance and technical expertise to ensure compliance with EHS regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned by the SHE Manager or Plant Manager.
Loss analysis and TPM investigations.

Interfaces with other department personnel in the corporate office, administration and plant locations as necessary
Requires good communication, interpersonal skills and interacts well with external customers, visitors, employees and management in other departments
Working Conditions:
Position operates in an environment in which there may be temperature extremes and exposure to weather, excessive noise and vibrations, moving mechanical parts, electric shock, hazardous chemicals, gases, odors, hot liquids or equipment. May work in high, low or confined spaces.
