Job Description

Independently set up and operate moderately complex manufacturing equipment that requires specialized skill or expertise. Specifically, this role will be responsible for programming and monitoring furnaces, troubleshooting and performing maintenance on furnaces and related equipment, preparing, loading and unloading furnace loads, and safe operation of overhead cranes and hoists. Other key responsibilities include: preventative and unscheduled maintenance on various types of manufacturing equipment. Notes: this is a safety sensitive role. Majority of work will be performed in an air conditioned environment.

  • Ability to read and interpret design drawings and technical specifications/procedures
  • Proficient in all aspects of measurement gages for the area after conclusion of training period and ability to train others
  • Maintain a safe workplace for self and fellow team members via compliance of safety policies and procedures, as well as active engagement with the safety program
  • Produce product in timely manner while following all quality system requirements
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Forklift certification capable
  • Proficient in all aspects of paperwork for the area within 30 days
  • Ability to train team members
  • Active participation in high performance team (HPT) initiatives to achieve goals
  • Troubleshoot problems as they arise; strong problem solving skills
  • Must be able to work and thrive in team environment
  • Must be able to work overtime or occasional flex shifts when required, including weekends.

Other tasks as assigned

  • Education: Industrial Systems Technology (diploma minimum, associates degree preferred)
  • Experience: 2 years in manufacturing or maintenance environment (preferred)
  • Communication: For safety and quality, must be able to read, write & understand English
  • Mechanical Aptitude: High
  • Strong Math skills - three digit addition and subtraction, multiple digit multiplication and division. Converting fractions to decimals. Ability to follow formulas for conversions (ex: SF to LF).
  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk and stoop, kneel, and crouch. Must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
